This report is part of the Supervised Teaching Practice II and it starts by the characterization of the educational context of the students in analysis. It also explains all the work developed in four areas: Portuguese, History and Geography of Portugal, Science and Mathematics. At the end there is an overall reflection on the course during the Supervised Teaching Practice. The interaction with the students in the 6th grade of ICE (Intervention in Educational Context), which constituted the group of Supervised Teaching Practice, has demonstrated difficulties on problem solving and communication, especially about its resolutions. From this statment, a study was developed in the context of a Math Congress, with this class and another one of the 6th grade too, which involved solving five problems. This study aims to understand the performance and the resolutions of students on solving challenging tasks, as well as verify how problem solving and students' participation in a Math Congress contribute to the development of communication and to a change of attitude towards Mathematics. Thus, some guiding questions for this research were defined: (i) How can we characterize the performance of students in the resolution of the proposed tasks? (Ii) What kind of privileged representations were presented in those resolutions? (ii) What were the main difficulties that students felt in presenting/communicating their resolutions in the Math Congress? and (iv) What is the reaction of the students towards the achievement of a Math Congress? We opted for a qualitative research methodology following a design of case study. The data collection focused on the two case groups, previously selected, relied and on observations, questionnaires, interviews, audio recordings and several other documents. Data analysis showed motivation and interest that students revealed during the entire study, thereby mobilizing many knowledge and mathematical processes. Student performance on some tasks proved to be less efficient, especially for low-level knowledge of mathematics and problem solving. We could realize that mathematical communication is not yet well developed in students as we identified some shortcomings in mathematical language, written and verbal, and their reasoning is sometimes confusing. The mathematical processes assume a very important role in the resolution of tasks, developing new resolution strategies, such as their representations. The day of the Math Congress was constituted as a mathematical community where mathematics was discussed in a participative way and allowed to give a different image of mathematics beyond the one the students have which is limited to the classroom.por
