Atividades de cidadania ambiental com um grupo de crianças do 1º ciclo do ensino básico

Abstract

A presente investigação apresenta-se através de: Atividades de Cidadania Ambiental com um grupo de crianças do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Com este estudo pretende-se conhecer a realidade de uma turma no que respeita: as preocupações, comportamentos, atitudes face ao meio ambiente, isto é, compreender a “consciência ecológica” destes presentes e futuros agentes de mudança. O estudo foi direcionado em torno de três questões orientadoras: (1) Quais os conceitos, inerentes à Educação Ambiental, com os quais as crianças estão familiarizadas? (2) De que forma as crianças estão sensibilizadas para a proteção do meio ambiente? e (3) Qual o seu contributo enquanto pequenas cidadãs para a proteção ambiental? Com estas questões pretendemos compreender o grau de conhecimento das crianças relativamente à temática da Educação Ambiental numa perspetiva social e cidadã. Desta forma, conheceremos as conceções, problemas ambientais conhecidos e possíveis soluções, contribuindo para que a criança se torne uma agente de mudança ativa e responsável, contribuindo para a sustentabilidade do ambiente. Para a recolha de dados foram implementadas uma série de tarefas, construídas a pensar tanto no ano de escolaridade, como nas dificuldades manifestadas nas semanas de observação. Optamos por uma metodologia qualitativa que nos permite relatar e desenvolver os acontecimentos de forma mais pormenorizada e completa, sendo que o papel do investigador foi fundamental, tendo sido na sua maioria, participante nas tarefas propostas. O presente relatório foi desenvolvido no âmbito da unidade curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II.

This investigation focuses in the following theme: “Environmental Citizenship Activities with a Children Group of Primary School”. With this study, the aim is to know the reality of one class that concerns preoccupations, behaviors, and attitudes in favor of the environment. That means, understanding the “ecological awareness” of the children who’s, one day, will became an change agent. This study focuses in three questions: (1) Which are the concepts about the Environment Education that children recognize? (2) Which way are the children sensitized/involved in the protection of the environment? and (3) What is their contribution, as a little citizen, to protect the environment? These questions will make us realize and forward some learning to our students relativity to this subject in favor of the education for citizenship. With this information, we will know the conceptions, environmental problems and the possible resolutions, contributing for the upgrade of knowledge and helping children to become an active and responsible agent of changing, contributing for environmental sustainability. Through the analyses of the gathered data, we implemented some tasks, thinking in the grade of the students and in their difficulties identified throughout the weeks. We chose a qualitative methodology, because it allows us to report and develop the detailed and completed events, in which the role of the investigator was crunch. The present report was developed within the course Supervised Teaching Practice II.
