“Os Heróis do Planeta”: uma proposta didática para explorar as alterações climáticas no 1.ºCEB

Abstract

O presente relatório é o espelho do trabalho realizado na unidade curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo. O relatório encontra-se dividido em 3 capítulos, nomeadamente, a caracterização dos contextos educativos, o trabalho de investigação e uma reflexão final sobre o percurso de PES. Embora já existam várias informações sobre as Alterações Climáticas, é importante que as crianças tenham as informações necessárias sobre este problema ambiental, sensibilizando-as para a valorização e importância da conservação do meio ambiente e das suas espécies desde tenra idade. As Alterações Climáticas afetam o meio ambiente e a saúde humana e dos ecossistemas. Algumas das suas causas estão diretamente ligadas à atividade humana, como é o caso do aumento das emissões de Gases com Efeito de Estufa (GEE) e a diminuição dos sumidouros de carbono, trazendo várias consequências para os seres vivos. A metodologia escolhida inicialmente seria um estudo-caso, mas devido à situação pandémica por SARS-COV-2, foi necessário reajustar a metodologia, alterando-a para uma Investigação documental. Assenta numa abordagem qualitativa tendo os dados sido recolhidos através da análise de documentos elaborados pelo Ministério da Educação como o Programa Curricular de Estudo do Meio, Aprendizagens Essenciais, Referencial de Educação Ambiental para a Sustentabilidade, Referencial de Educação para a Saúde, Referencial de Educação para o Desenvolvimento e Manuais Escolares. Depois da análise dos documentos, verificou-se a escassez de conteúdos diretamente relacionados com as alterações climáticas, tendo sido elaborada uma proposta constituída por seis atividades que abordam o tema das Alterações Climáticas, suas causas, impactos e formas de mitigação.

This report is the mirror of the work carried out in the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice (PES), developed in the scope of the Master's Degree in Pre-school Education and Primary School Teaching, of the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. The report is divided into three chapters, namely, the characterization of the educational contexts, the research work and a final reflection on the course of PES. Although there is already a lot of information about Climate Change, it is important that children have the necessary information about this environmental problem, making them aware of the value and importance of conservation of the environment and its species from an early age. Climate Change affects the environment and human and ecosystem health. Some of its causes are directly linked to human activity, such as the increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the decrease in carbon sinks, bringing about several consequences for living beings. The methodology initially chosen was a case study, but due to the SARS-COV-2 pandemic situation, it was necessary to readjust the methodology, changing it to a documental investigation. It is based on a qualitative approach and the data were collected through the analysis of documents produced by the Ministry of Education such as the Curriculum Program of Environmental Study, Essential Learning, Guidelins of Environmental Education for Sustainability, Guidelins of Education for Health, the Guidelins of Education for Development and School Manuals. After the analysis of the documents, it was verified the scarcity of content directly related to climate change, so a proposal was developed consisting of six activities that address the issue of climate change, its causes, impacts and ways to mitigate it.
