1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
estrutura deste relatório contempla três partes distintas: a primeira dedicada à
recurso a diversas técnicas e instrumentos, incluindo observação participante, registos
Abstract The present study is part of the context of Supervised Teaching Practice, a mandatory curricular component of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The research presented here focused on an Early Childhood Education class made up of children aged between three and six years old. The structure of this report includes three distinct parts: the first dedicated to the contextualization of PES and the educational contexts where the intervention took place; the second part presents a detailed description of the study carried out with children; and the third part is intended for critical reflection on the experience. The main focus of the study was to understand the development of local identity in preschool children. In accordance with this objective, three research questions were created: (1) What prior notions of identity are evidenced by children? (2) What learning do children show when carrying out a set of themed activities around their local identity? (3) What advantages arise from these interdisciplinary approaches to children's development? The pedagogical proposal encompasses interdisciplinary activities between the Area of Expression and Communication in the field of Mathematics and the area of Personal and Social Training, in the subdomain of Identity Construction and Self-Esteem. To deepen the understanding of the phenomenon investigated, a qualitative approach was chosen, with the case study as a methodological strategy. Data collection was carried out using various techniques and instruments, including participant observation, audiovisual and photographic records, children's productions and informal interviews, with the purpose of capturing the complexity of the context and the multiple perspectives involved. Data analysis revealed that children reveal notions of identity in relation to the environment that surrounds them. It was also observed that, with interdisciplinary activities, children acquired knowledge in the scope of the two areas covered and this learning contributed to a greater development of identity and greater meaning attributed by children to the activities carried out. |
